About Us
Kyllee and Paul Henton are proud owners of White River Dairies. They both enjoy a hands-on role in running the farm, and involve their three children, who range in age from 5-13 years old whenever help is needed. They also employee three permanent full-time staff and a casual.
Paul has been dairy farming since he was first put behind the steering wheel of a tractor at age 8 – dairy farming is in his DNA. Born onto a dairy farm in Island Block, North Waikato, his family had a dairy farm which they converted to a maize cropping farm when Paul was young.
Surrounded by dairy farming neighbours, Paul started tractor driving and relief milking at an early age. After finishing school, he worked on a number of different dairy farms in the Waikato with a couple of spells as a commercial fishing and in market gardening before ultimately returning to dairy farming.
Paul is the Operations Manager and a
director/shareholder of White River Dairies.
He specialises in cattle nutrition, farm systems management and staff development.
Kyllee is the Business Manager of White River Dairies, she is also a veterinarian and a director and shareholder of the company. Born in Canterbury, Kyllee grew up in the North Island and spent most of the school holidays on the Taranaki dairy farms owned by her grandparents and extended family.
In 1997, Kyllee graduated from Massey University with a Batchelor of Veterinary Science and remains a registered veterinarian in New Zealand, however, her services are devoted to White River Dairies exclusively now days.
Her role includes calf rearer, cow midwife and general farm worker as required.
When not tending to her children and the animals, Kyllee enjoys dressage, Pony Club administration and instructing, and horse riding.
